Fashion's Night Out 2013 - Lights Out!

"The sponsors of the event — Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America and NYC & Co. — made the joint decision to go on hiatus so retailers and designers can focus their budgets on projects that are more in line with their specific objectives, rather than a big event on one night in September." - Lisa Lockwood,

In 2012 Indianapolis' Pattern Indy group coordinated it's own FNO efforts that I was a sponsored social media reporter/blogger for. I am very sure that the group was planning a comeback this year, but according to reports the CFDA would like to take FNO from the US designer and retail focus to a more international focus this year. Where does that leave the consumer or those enthused about FNO and getting out and about to network and enjoy a fashion party that one night of the year? We will just have to follow this story and see.

Kimye Cover L'Officiel Hommes!!

It is to my understanding that L'Officiel Hommes is a French men's magazine that has been blessed with two celebs Kim Kardashian and Kanye West on the cover of their most recent release. The pair appear to be nude and in a deep, sensual embrace.
Question: Isn't this just Kim and Ray J, taken to another level? No videography (or cam) just a still pic, leaving the rest to the imagination. I understand the difference, but from a larger perspective is there really a difference? The similar principal being pushed here seems to be that sex sells and in saying that, the Kim and Ray J movie and the Kim and Kanye cover seem to be rather identical.
But if they like it, I love it and I love seeing the two seem so madly in love and happy with one another. I hope though, as the time continues to approach for their child to enter the world that their choices in photo shots and public displays of affection become more filtered and less sexual.

Rachel Roy Fall/Winter 2013 Digital Runway Show!

Not only did Rachel Roy make it interesting by shooting a digital runway show to display her Fall/Winter 2013 Collection, but the motion camera was used to accent specific things such as the movement of the fabrics and the fabric details in close ups and longer views to make those moments last longer, something that can't really happen in person, with the average eye.

This collection is full of statement ideas that can be translated all throughout your fall wardrobe that will give you a very rich, fashionable, sophisticated look. Some of the trends that I spotted were:

Wavy hair
Nude face
Illuminated/metallic face
Loose hair
Reverse french manicure

Pointed toe booties
Pointed toe pumps

Short slacks
Tuxedo slacks
Paints suit
Calf length skirts
Knee length dresses
Turtle necks

Fabric embellishments on shoulders
Custom prints
Fancy applique's and embroidery

This was an all around solid collection. As far as personal taste, I oohhed and ahhed over pretty much everything that I saw.

View the runway show below. Feel free to leave comments.

Minnie Mouse To Wear Lanvin Once Again!!

Minnie Mouse was a part of the animated short created for Barney's New York Holiday season, walking the runway wearing nothing other than Lanvin. And now that it is time for Disneyland Paris to celebrate it's 20th Anniversary, Minnie Mouse requested to wear a Lanvin frock "in reality" to the celebration. I hear that she wrote Mr. Albar Elbaz personally by letter requesting that he outfit her, as any other diva would do. The actual date that she will unveil this custom piece is March 23rd for the Disneyland Paris fashion parade!
