NaNa-1st Round Draft Pick!!

NaNa scored First Round Draft Pick in the January issue of Leak Magazine, looking fly styled by (yours truly) Notable Service. Photography was done by Elite Media. An online copy of the mag can be downloaded here. I agree that NaNa is definitely moving into her own and wearing the title as Indiana's princess very well. Her natural ability, talent and charisma in rapping and engaging her audience make her a force to reckon with. For more info on NaNa click here.

Wednesday, January 27, 2010 Dress!!

This dress = My style. But the seller does not ship to the the United States. So, Im going to have to find a way to obtain product from their shop despite this logistics breakdown. I can do it, I know I can.

Now on to the dress details. It has an asymmetrical hemline, it's made of 100% soft cotton, with drawstring gathering on one side of the hem and the boat neck collar says, I know my fashion, ohhhh. Showing just the collarbone with no cleavage is the perfect way to be sexy and subtle.

The Front

This piece looks very comfortable and sexy in it's own simple way. It is dark gray so you can punch it up with colorful accessories or keep it monotone, with items from the gray color family.

The Back

This is the perfect item to start with if you want to build a wonderful full outfit around something basic and cute.

Price - 35GBP or $56.50.

Michele Watch!!

I am in LOVE with this Michele 'Deco' Diamond watch case. The animal inspired background is kicking tail. And the 108 diamonds that come to a total weight of approximately 0.60ct isn't too bad either. This watch is water resistant and has a VS1-VS2 clarity.

The watch band is sold separately. Which means, you can get a lot of wear out of the watch by being able to switch up your wrist bands. Watch case price - $1495. 18mm, gold watch band price - $350.

Pre-Spring Preview From Aldo!!

Aldo has a plethora of Pre-Spring shoes that are GORGEOUS!! I normally do not get this excited about shoes that I can not wear for another two months, but whether or not you decide to wear them now or later, is up to you and the fashion accommodations you are willing to make.

Sandals, peep toe boots/booties/shoes and flat slip ons, can all be worn with tights, stockings or knee high socks during colder months to cover up the exposed pars of the foot. So, now you have a shoe that you can play in during the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer months.

I have edited the collection to only a chosen few (that can be viewed below), feel free to visit to view the entire collection. Price points are $50 - $100.

Below are some of L.B.'s favorite looks to give a try. Being the neutral one, may be the best thing for you to do this year! ;-)

I made a request to GNO, a request for them to tell their story, via the Notable Styles Blog. The story of women coming together in one community, standing for good causes and of course fun. From the outside, looking in, GNO seems like a sorority of sort, started by regular, down to earth, Nuvo and non-alcoholic beverage sipping ladies.

This Girl Crew decided to clique up, while partying and supporting one another, sounds perfect right?

But as time, goes on, GNO is evolving, growing and at a pretty steady pace. They've expanded into providing consistent volunteer efforts and Notable Community Service. It doesn't get any better than this, these girls ROCK!!

A Little Cheap Monday on Tuesday!

Cheap Monday is a low to mid priced line that will always offer apparel that is not readily seen. How often will you see a duct tape body dress ($57) or a pair of tight denim patch jeans ($40)? Cheap Monday is also known for, providing an array of colors in ladies skinny jeans.

Notable Ones: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr!!

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has been an extraordinary figure and contributor to the civic rights and opportunities that African - Americans now have today. In history classes all over America, he is most recognized (in a general sense), for his "March on Washington", "I Have A Dream Speech" and being a civil rights "leader/speaker" so to speak.

But Martin Luther King Jr's life could never be summarized into a page and half of a history book. This man's credentials and list of accomplishments span way beyond that. Martin Luther King is a figure who was vast, full of vigor, variety and hope.

Dr. King represents the things that I have grown to live for and aspire to be. Dr. King represents a union of people with similar ideals and the drive, the action and determination that it takes to change things, within society. Dr. King represents a way of thinking and a leadership ability that I wish was still present in the world of today, the "New Millenium"

I would like to highlight some of Dr. King's milestones and accomplishments that I feel are important:

  • Graduated from high school at the age of fifteen
  • Received a B. A. degree in 1948 from Morehouse College (making him a 3rd generation male graduate, as his father and grandfather graduated from there as well)
  • Studied three years of theology at Crozer Theological Seminary in Pennsylvania and was elected president of a predominantly white senior class and was awarded the B.D. in 1951
  • Enrolled in graduate studies at Boston University, completing his residence for the doctorate in 1953 and received the degree in 1955

  • Was a member of the executive committee of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People
  • Led the first great Negro nonviolent demonstration of contemporary times in the United States, the bus boycott which lasted 382 days. Because of the boycott, on December 21, 1956, the Supreme Court of the United States declared the laws requiring segregation on buses unconstitutional, and Negroes and whites rode the buses as equals.
  • During the boycott days, Dr. King, was arrested, his home was bombed, he was subjected to personal abuse, but at the same time he emerged as a Negro leader of the first rank

  • In 1957 he was elected president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference
  • Dr. King traveled over six million miles and spoke over twenty-five hundred times, appearing wherever there was injustice, protest, and action
  • Martin Luther King wrote five books as well as numerous articles

  • He led a massive protest in Birmingham, Alabama, that caught the attention of the entire world, providing what he called a coalition of conscience.
  • He wrote a "Letter from a Birmingham Jail", a manifesto of the Negro revolution
  • He planned the drives in Alabama for the registration of Negroes as voters
  • He directed the peaceful march on Washington, D.C., of 250,000 people to whom he delivered his address, "I Have a Dream"
  • He conferred with President John F. Kennedy and campaigned for President Lyndon B. Johnson
  • He was arrested upwards of twenty times and assaulted at least four times
  • He was awarded five honorary degrees
  • He was named Man of the Year by Time magazine in 1963

  • At the age of thirty-five, Martin Luther King, Jr., was the youngest man to have received the Nobel Peace Prize.
  • He gave the Nobel prize money of $54,123 to the furtherance of the civil rights movement.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, was a man of strength, a loving soul who was determined to stand up for what was right for a people, a people that believed in the same things, but may have just needed someone to speak for them. Dr. King was that man. A spokesman and role model for African-Americans and all races that disagree with oppression and segregation, but believed in equal rights for ALL! For more on Dr. King click here.
